As a Student Care Teacher, you play a crucial role in the daily care, development, and well-being of students under your supervision. This position involves facilitating student care routines, managing students' needs, ensuring discipline and safety, guiding homework completion, and fostering positive communication with parents. The Student Care Teacher is responsible for creating a conducive learning environment and contributing to the overall development of students.
Key Responsibilities
Facilitate Daily Student Care Routines:
Ensure the smooth execution of daily routines, including arrival, departure, meals (lunch and teabreak) , and recreational activities.
Create a welcoming and nurturing environment for students.
Keep accurate records of attendance, student progress, and any incidents that may occur.
Prepare and maintain student profiles to track individual needs and preferences.
Facilitating pick-up from nearby schools:
Involved in pick-up duties from schools nearby.
Ensure teachers are aware of school's dismissal times and allows sufficient time to pick students to the centre.
Ensure students are pick up safely and adhere to traffic protocols while walking on pavement.
Student Management:
Proactively respond to the developmental needs of students.
Foster positive relationships and address behavioral concerns with care and attention.
Inculcate positive values and instill discipline in these children.
Encourage students’ participation in classroom activities
Classroom Discipline and Safety:
Maintain discipline, orderliness, and a safe environment within the classroom.
Implement safety protocols and respond to emergencies effectively.
Implement effective behavior management strategies to maintain a positive and respectful atmosphere.
Address disciplinary issues promptly and appropriately, following established policies together with Centre Manager
Guidance on Homework and Spelling:
Provide guidance and supervision to students for the completion of daily homework assignments.
Support students in spelling practice and testing , on top of that reinforce learning.
Communicate with parents on the progress of the spelling practice and how to work hand in hand to ensure preparedness for the test in school
Ensure that students are focused and engaged in completing their Mind Stretcher Homework Booster assignments.
Provide support and guidance to students who may have questions or challenges with their homework.

Centre Programmes/Activities:
Plan, prepare, and conduct centre programs and activities according to the provided lesson plan and schedule.
Ensure activities align with the developmental needs and interests of students.
Create captions for the daily posts on the Mind Sparks communication app, highlighting the activities of the day such as homework, spelling practice, or enrichment activities.
Parental Liaison:
Establish and maintain regular communication with parents regarding incidents, progress of the students, and behavior of students.
Address parental concerns and provide updates on students' well-being.
Ad-Hoc Duties:
Assist in any other ad-hoc duties that may be assigned and required from time to time.
Contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the student care center.
Adhere to sanitation guidelines and work together with colleagues to ensure cleanliness of the centre are met
Administrative work (occasional sales and collection of forms) and upkeep of centre premises.
May require to help out at other centre if short of manpower
Alternative working hours during school holidays:
Follow assigned work shift patterns of the centre (Shift 1: 7am – 4pm , Shift 2: 10am – 7pm)
Conduct programme apart from regular Mind Sparks programme
About You:
Diploma in Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferred. (Candidates without a Diploma but with relevant experience may apply).
First Aid and CPR certification is an advantage.
Good organizational and multitasking skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to create a positive and nurturing learning environment for students.
Demonstrated patience with young children
Possesses an energetic and independent character
Meticulous in handling assigned tasks
Proficient in basic productivity tools i.e., MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
Good communication, interpersonal skills and classroom management skills
Organised, detailed and proactive
