As a Student Care Centre Manager, you will lead and oversee all aspects of centre operations, staff management, student well-being and parent engagement. You will be accountable for maintaining high operational standards, ensure regulatory compliance, driving enrolment performance and delivering a consistently high-quality student care experience.
Key Responsibilities
Drive Daily Centre Operations and Standards:
Set clear standards for daily routines and ensure consistency across all centre operations.
Review and optimise daily schedules to support smooth and efficient programme delivery.
Conduct regular checks to ensure operational processes are carried out effectively.
Ensure staffing ratios, safety requirements and operational guidelines are consistently met.
Establish and enforce policies related to food safety, allergy management, medication handling and student well-being.
Ensure compliance with data protection (PDPA) requirements and maintain proper handling of student and parent information.
Oversee Safe and Effective Student Transitions:
Establish and review processes for school pick-ups and student transitions.
Ensure all safety protocols are adhered to and risks are proactively managed.
Liaise with relevant external parties where required to support operational needs.
Lead Student Management and Development:
Set the centre’s approach to student behaviour management and discipline.
Ensure consistent application of behaviour management practices across the team.
Guide staff in handling behavioural concerns and support resolution of complex cases.
Engage parents on significant student matters and ensure appropriate follow-up actions.
Establish guidelines for device usage and screen time, ensuring alignment with programme objectives and student well-being.
Oversee Academic Support and Programme Quality:
Provide oversight of the centre’s academic support programmes, including homework guidance and learning reinforcement.
Set expectations for academic tracking and ensure consistent implementation across the centre.
Monitor programme quality and address feedback relating to student learning outcomes.
Collaborate with academic teams to ensure alignment with broader educational standards.
Ensure Accurate Records and Process Compliance:
Establish and maintain clear procedures for student records, documentation and administrative processes.
Conduct regular audits and checks to ensure compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
Ensure proper data management practices and safeguard the confidentiality of student and parent information.
Address gaps or inconsistencies and implement corrective actions where necessary.
Plan and Enhance Centre Programmes:
Review and approve centre programmes and activity plans.
Drive continuous improvement and innovation in programme offerings.
Monitor programme effectiveness and report outcomes to management.
Ensure all programmes align with Mind Sparks’ standards and objectives.
Build Strong Parent Relationships
Serve as the key point of contact for parents and manage escalated concerns professionally.
Set and uphold standards for parental communication across the centre.
Drive initiatives to improve parent engagement, satisfaction and retention.
Monitor enrolment performance and support growth through strong relationship management.
Staff Leadership & Development
Recruit, onboard and develop centre staff to build a strong and capable team.
Plan manpower deployment and manage staff scheduling to support operational needs.
Conduct performance reviews and provide regular coaching and feedback.
Foster a positive team culture and support staff engagement and retention.
Monitor staff well-being and ensure workloads are managed sustainably.
Provide support channels for staff and escalate ongoing concerns where necessary.
Manage Centre Administration and Operations
Oversee all administrative and operational functions of the centre.
Manage budgeting, expenses and financial reporting in accordance with company requirements.
Oversee procurement and management of centre resources, including devices and equipment.
Ensure accurate handling of billing, payments and related documentation.
Oversee student registration, withdrawals and record management.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory and operational requirements.
Manage facilities, vendors and centre maintenance needs.
Track and report key performance indicators to Operations Manager, including enrolment, manpower and operational metrics.
Oversee Holiday Operations and Shift Planning
Follow assigned working hours of the centre during school term.
Plan and manage staff schedules during school terms and holiday periods. Alternative working hours during school holidays: Shift 1 (7am–4pm) or Shift 2 (8am–5pm) / (9am–6pm).
Ensure adequate staffing and smooth operations during holiday programmes.
Remain contactable for operational matters or emergencies when required.
About You:
Diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education, Social Services or a related field is preferred. (Candidates without a Diploma but with relevant experience are welcome to apply)
At least 7 years of experience in student care, with a minimum of 2 years in supervisory, management or leadership role.
Positive and possess a can-do attitude.
Strong command of language especially in spoken and written English. Highly advantageous if multi-lingual and able to read and speak in Mandarin.
Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to build and lead effective teams.
Proven ability in operational planning, execution and centre management.
Strong organisational and administrative management capabilities.
Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage parents, staff and HQ team members effectively.
Good decision-making skills with a strong sense of accountability and ownership.
Familiar with regulatory and compliance requirements within the student care or education sector.
Organised, proactive and results-driven, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
